This one had been very personal. My father was the closest family I've ever had, and I depended on him for everything up until he died when I was 17. Without guidance, help, or knowledge of what to do, I was out on my own. I would love to be able to call home and ask daddy for help when I was in a bind.
It's like learning to ride a bike. I fall, and daddy is there to pick me up, steady me, and show me how again. He's there to comfort a bruised ego, a scraped knee, he's there to encourage another go. But now he's gone, and he can't help me up when I fall anymore. I have to decide on my own whather it's worth another try, another fall, learning from bumps and bruises on my own. I still feel like a kid.

I find that tragedy renders the best creative works, not to sound heartless. I've lost both grandparents on my father's side and my first dog in the past three years. It's good that you can turn something so horrible into something so good.
